My Qualifications Explained
BACP Accreditation. This is a bit like a British standard kite mark and stands for the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (the largest UK counselling accrediting body). They have accredited me because they approve of my training, monitor my practice, ensure that I am in supervision and that I continue with further training. I am also bound by their high standards of confidentiality and ethics.
2007. Trained and Certified as an Imago Relationship Therapist with Imago Relationships International.
1999. Diploma in Counselling. A two year part time course specialising in the person centred approach to counselling.
1997. MA. Ed. For this degree I studied teamwork and leadership with carers and teachers of disturbed children and their families.
1979. Counselling Certificate. A two year part time general counselling course.
1968. Diploma of Education. Drama. I qualified as a drama teacher.
UKRC Registered. (United Kingdom Register of Counsellors) They approve of my qualifications.
I have completed very many other shorter training courses and continue to study issues to do with, for example loss/grief, sexual abuse, couples work etc.
